FAQ Content

So, you want to know a bit more? Well, you seem like a curious one. Just the type we like around here.

Where are your products made?

We are proudly Australian-made and owned. All our products are manufactured at Mask HQ (aka the house of fun), at our Tweed Heads warehouse. Our offices are located in Byron Bay.

Are your ingredients safe?

We love transparency! Here's a full list of the ingredients we use in our toilet sprays, air fresheners & hand sanitisers:

Air Fresheners

Alcohol (denat) - Derived from wheat. We use ethanol as an effective solvent which helps emulsify ingredients to stop separation. It’s also an effective preservative, keeping our products free from bacteria and helping disperse the fragrance evenly when sprayed.
Water - Helps ‘thin’ the formula. A 100% oil formula will not disperse through our mist spray caps.
PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil - an effective emulsifying agent to stop ingredient separation.
Fragrance - a combination of essential and fragrance oils which are paraben-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, cruelty-free and IFRA (International Fragrance Association) approved.

Toilet Sprays

Water - Helps ‘thin’ the formula. A 100% oil formula will not disperse through our mist spray caps.
Alcohol (denat) - is used as a solvent to solubilize the oils.
PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil - helps to create a barrier on the toilet water surface to trap odours.
Castor Oil - vegetable oil from castor beans.
Fragrance - a combination of essential and fragrance oils which are paraben-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, cruelty-free and IFRA (International Fragrance Association) approved.

Hand Sanitisers

Alcohol (denat) - kills 99.9% of germs.
Water - Helps ‘thin’ the formula.
Glycerine - a moisture preserving agent to prevent dry hands.
Hydrogen Peroxide - is used to inactivate contaminating bacterial spores in the solution. We use the same percentage as recommended by the WHO (World Health Organization).
Fragrance - a combination of essential and fragrance oils which are paraben-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, cruelty-free and IFRA (International Fragrance Association) approved.

Can I use your air fresheners as a toilet spray and vice versa?

Unfortunately not. Our Air Fresheners are not suited as a Toilet Spray as they don’t contain the correct mix of oils to create the barrier to stop odours. Our Toilet Sprays contain more oil than our Air Fresheners and can leave an oily residue on certain surfaces as it is a milky white solution!

How safe are your products?

Please see above for a full list of ingredients. We don't use preservatives and all our products are paraben-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, cruelty-free and IFRA (International Fragrance Association) approved.

Can I use your air fresheners around pets?

It is true that some essential & fragrance oils can be harmful to pets. Our sprays do not contain any oils or oils in unsafe quantities that would be considered unsafe for pets. It is also important to understand that our sprays are not ‘pet sprays’ but ‘pet-friendly sprays’, meaning they are not supposed to be used on pets.

We have many customers with pets who like to spray our air fresheners on pet toys or accessories (blankets, kitty litter etc) and we have received only positive feedback.

Is there a shelf life for Mask products?

As a general rule, no. However, fragrances may lose their potency slightly after 12 months so best to keep your stock up to date!

Are your sprays harmful to the environment?

Mask products have no detrimental impact on the environment and have a very low aquatic toxicity concern.

I have a septic tank. Any issues?

Not a worry! Mask sprays will not affect the hard-working bacteria in your tank - so you can go ahead!

What if I have allergies or respiratory issues?

Please let us know if you have any food allergies as our products do contain natural ingredients (herbs and spices for example). If you do suffer from serious breathing problems or have respiratory issues, the use of any air freshener is best avoided.

Will your oils stain furniture or surfaces?

Our air fresheners may stain some fabrics, surfaces, furniture or leather goods. Be sure to test on an inconspicuous area first. Ensure that our reed diffuser oils are not spilt on surfaces or leather furniture.

One final thing!

Do not leave bottles in vehicles in extreme heat as they may melt.
